Human Centered Artificial Intelligence and Workforce Displacement Artificial intelligence promises to be one of the most disruptive technologies in history - estimates show automation enabled by AI putting nearly 60% of jobs at risk! As a society, we feel both excited and apprehension about intelligent machines replacing human tasks.

My View of the World
AI is reshaping the workforce landscape by automating routine tasks, leading to a shift in job roles and requiring workers to adapt to new skill sets which as critics fear most rather than replacing humans, AI is being used to enhance human capabilities. I believe that while AI unlocks tremendous potential for economic growth and solving complex problems, we must approach its development and application through a human-centered lens. The risk of increase in inequality and skills gaps means we should deliberately design AI to collaborate with workers - providing training, augmenting productivity and perhaps most importantly, ensuring meaningful employment transitions for those displaced. The core principles of human-centered AI that resonate with me is enhancing human capabilities rather than replacing them and prioritizing the elevation of human experiences alongside economic objectives, and conscientiously embedding ethics, privacy, and social impact into every stage of the AI lifecycle.

Partnership, not replacement must be central to the AI-powered workforce. Just as fire improved the human condition despite initial wariness, a human-focused orientation to developing and deploying AI will allow us to spread its economic and knowledge benefits equitably. I'm optimistic that proactive policies and responsible technology leadership will lead AI to enhance employment, productivity and accessibility - creating broad-based prosperity. But we must stay vigilant about the associated risks and keep the workforce central when making decisions.

And remember, choose humanity over the machines or else the Terminator wins. Then only a futuristic machine with time travel can save us.
